In Christ alone

In Christ alone I place my trust
And find my glory in the power of the cross
In every victory let it be said of me
My source of strength
My source of hope -- in Christ alone

-- "In Christ Alone" by Phillips, Craig & Dean (Sample here)

Phillips, Craig & Dean's new medley of Stuart Townend's "In Christ Alone" has been stuck in my head the whole weekend. I've just been singing that chorus over and over, occasionally breaking down. I'm not going through a tough time -- at least, not tougher than usual; there's nothing to cry about, really. But I suppose that it is so rare to be stripped of all of the usual helplessness; for once, I didn't feel like I had to be rescued, or be comforted -- I just felt loved. In Christ, and by Christ. :)

err, that is the Michael English version you quoted up there actually. =) (both versions are just as good in telling one on whom your faith should stand).

Stuart Townend's starts with

In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light my strength my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled when strivings cease!
My Comforter my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

Yes yes, that's how the song starts! :) I just cut the part of it that I like. But in the CD sleeve, it credits Keith Getty, Stuart Townend, Shawn Craig, and Don Koch... no Michael English. =\

orh =) couldn't tell from the excerpt heheh.

Michael English was the singer who made that version of the song famous, sorry for confusing you. I guess Shawn Craig and Don Koch wrote it for him. =)

Hi - I came across your blog accidentally as I was looking for song lyrics to Phillips Craig & Dean's "Let the Worshippers Arise". How blessed I was to find this post regarding of one of my favorite choruses ever.

Also, I liked your frequent song reflections - I do those on my blog too. :)

To place our trust in God totally, is so awesome. Thanks for the post!
